Maybe I'm a chump, but I take her at her word.

I want to say that they should really up their logistical game for the next release, but... actually, I want day 1 to slowly absorb the brunt of the beer nerd line so I can get my Beat in 10 minutes on day 2 or 3. ;)

If they're serious about improving things, maybe they should only let you buy 2 bottles like SARA does. Drink, age, trade: pick two. Plus, so much entertainment value from all the hilarious disguises!

Maybe not chump, but certainly naive. This is the exact same story as last time. The line was an hour to two longer this time, but the messaging (before and after) is exactly the same.

Going by what I know about them, I just have a hard time imagining Natalie or Vinnie lying to the public while cackling maniacally over their piles of money in the back. It seems more likely that they're a bit inept when it comes to dealing with the fact that they're one of the most popular craft breweries in the world. But having never met either one of them, I could certainly be very wrong.

Ya, I think Stu said it earlier (though it may have been another thread), but I think Hanlon's Razor applies here: never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. Stupidity is probably a bit strong, but certainly ineptness? Plus, I think they really, really like the local attention. They're in the local news, their friends in Santa Rosa get to see how popular they are, etc.

And that's fine, but they keep ******* up the same way. The first time, that's a surprise. The second time, well the first wasn't an anomaly. But they've ****** it up many, many, many times now. And each time, they have plenty of people telling them ahead of time it will be popular, they never manage to mitigate the experience (go find tickets, stamp them and hand them out to people for later pickup?) and they always profess great shock afterward that things turned out the way they did. Surprise/shock is no excuse at this point, it's been happening this way for a long time now.

Also, I had faith after the Wild Friendship sale. Granted, hardly anyone showed up for that, but it was still a pre-dawn lineup. The events manager showed up at like 6:30am or something and handed out tickets and stamps, telling us the sale would start at 8am. Granted there weren't a myriad of bottles to parse through, the early opening and ticket distribution sort of restored a sense of hope that they were changing their approach to releases in general.

I was link three people in front of Ryan. It was five hours.

And we were probably 10 behind you. Remember when they split us into lines because the bottle-only line was going to be so much faster? But it actually took longer????

I could certainly be very wrong.

You are. I know you're a bit green, but take us at our word for it.

Yes, 850 people showed "unexpectedly".

It took a bit longer than usual but I'm certainly not disappointed with their post expressing shock and humility over people showing up for a beer release.

Natalie is the ******* worst. She's like Queen of the shitlords.

Oh, yeah. I swore never to return to a RR bottle release that didn't have advance ordering over the whole "faster" bottles-only line!

Oh, City Beer is/was selling Framboos? Assuming it's all sold out by now, how do people find out about this stuff ahead of time? (Or do they just get lucky?)
