No. Nothing else to add, just no.

Unless they are selling the stuff they brewed last year. New stuff is average at best.

Thanks man, that's basically what I'm looking for. I remember liking some of their stuff at Shelton Fest this year, but then again I blacked out about 30 minutes later so who knows.

Change in brewer since last year.

The Blood Orange Saison is not bad.

Tahoe Mountain just showed up around here - are their beers worth the (kind of steep) price of admission? Today I saw two different BA saison varieties and a BA old ale I believe, at ~$17/500mL. There were also some cheaper bottles that I'll probably just pick up to try, a blood orange saison, a berliner, and a porter.

On a related note, I really wish that Untappd ratings could be trusted, but way too many casuals use it so everything gets high marks. The BA database is hilariously bad these days; the Taho Mountain stuff has like 1-2 ratings per beer, for something with statewide distro that's pretty pathetic.

Some of my favorite untappd reviews include, "yucky, taste like some sort of lambic" .5/5 starts, or "I bet this would be great if I liked stouts" 1/5 stars.

Too much ******** to weed out online these days, I just have to trust my friends who have tried said beer, or be the first in group to try it. Just hard when a lot of new beers start popping up in the $16+ range these days.

I love those kind of reviews. " I hate sours but I tried this and it is SOUR". 1/5 hahahaha

I only use the “Friends” tab these days when researching a beer on Untappd. At least with most of my friends I know how compatible my palate is with theirs, and most of my friends aren’t complete *********.

I need to figure out how to do this. Untappd doesn't work well for me, only recognizes location 5% of the time, so I haven't bothered to use its deeper features.

But yes, most people rate like morons.

It seems like a solid brewery should be printing $$ up in Tahoe. It's weird that nothing seems to stick up there.

I could be totally wrong on this, but this seems like it is due to the fact that BA got rid of all ratings without reviews over 150 characters, which is why those numbers are so low.

Capa is garbage
What!?! You don't like something that I like?!?! That's impossible.

I have a good (but not super-beery) friend who is picking up a ton of beers for me in your area. She ended up with more than expected, but now that FedEx charges by size AND weight, I'm reluctant to send her more shippers unless necessary. Any idea of where in Soma area she could buy more 12-bottle shippers?

Thanks!

Is she near Santa Rosa? Bottle Barn has shippers.

K&L usually has shippers, but sometimes they need to get them from the warehouse so it takes a few days. Just give them a call.

Think both that and Aroma Prieta get more mediocre every year.

I tried both at the Original Gravity on Saturday. The Coma was decent, but the Prieta wasn't doing it for me. They had a cask of Coma that was dry hopped with something or other that I thought was very tasty, though.

To hell with you beer hoarding ******** around Mountain View. 4 cases of Helldorado at the Los Altos Whole Foods - poof by noon. Same story at Jane's. I'm done hunting. If I find it or get info, great, but no more of the wild goose chase.

Uh... Did you think I was joking all these years about Firestone being nonexistent in the Bay Area? They don't send enough, and it vanishes quickly.

You can always trade a Chicago guy for it.
