Help, I'm lost. Can someone show me how to get to the Valley thread?
Sorry Snuffy. This isn't your home anymore. Go hang out with snuffy916

I'm at Rose & Crown, my college hangout. Wow, and not in a good way. I'll say no more.

Edit: I will say one thing, Auburn Alehouse suuuuuuuucks so bad. Bartender gave me the wrong beer, I took it, oh my Lord

Edit 2: we're going to Gordon Biersch after. I'm so unhappy right now

Edit 3: I'm legitimately annoyed that anyone would rate Gold Digger over a 3 in CA. I left 13 of the 16 oz on the table and just walked out

Pale Alto Brewing is worse.

This is very tentative, but I may actually be hitting Cellarmaker this Saturday during my jaunt to Northern California. It will probably be around lunch time, but just wanted to give a heads up in case anyone was around.

What date(s)?

EDIT: you're the one who posted that lingerie photo, right? Must meet

I've mixed you up with someone else, and I'm washing my hair that day.

Seriously though, due to repairs, BART on weekends into the city = no go. :-\ Hopefully you'll be back or I'll be in PDX again soon.
The only thing I took from that was "no lingerie, no go." Fine. I'll buy some frilly **** just for you.

In all seriousness, I'll be in CA, at least once a year, as my family and a ton of friends are still there (minus my best friend, who will be moving up here in a couple of months). And please let me know if you're in PDX. Would love to get a beer with you (that also stands for anyone else here).

Edit: looked at that pic. My gut is WAY bigger.

I was an R&C patron when the owner started PABC. Coconut Porter wasn't bad then, but the hoppy stuff was always wretched.

I just went to Drake's for Aroma Coma. Never got the love for this one, so I skipped the release. Anyone go?
Drakes releases usually suck. So nope, but will grab bottles this week.

BART closure is Aug 1-2 and Labor Day Weekend, not this coming weekend if that makes any difference.

Usually shut down between Fruitvale and Coliseum as well though. I don't feel like a 3+ hour roundtrip into the city when I can get Cellarmaker during the week. I suck, I know.

What's the skinny on Fieldwork Brewing? Limited info on the website, but it looks like a worthy spot. I ask because I'm driving by tonight and was thinking of stopping for a couple of beers.

Pretty solid, esp if you like Hops. Not into Hops, they don't have much for you. Thus it's pretty much like every other California brewery.

Was there on Sat, and they had a Coconut DIPA which was awesome. Besides hoppy beers, the only thing they had was a french table beer (why even bother drinking at that point), and a mexican export stout on Nitro. I can't be unbiased when it comes to chili beers because they're awful, but this was particularly awful IMO.

Just went last Thursday for my first time to get a growler fill. It's like a notch or two below Cellarmaker, which is still pretty good. Nice layout though. It's kinda like Rare Barrel, but with better service layout.

I'd put them in that 2nd tier of Bay Area breweries (Cellarmaker sitting alone at the top) with RB, Faction, Altamont, etc.

Solid but nothing mind blowing that I've had yet. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area though. The space is pretty cool.

I've heard this about treating their employees like trash before, but can you provide a little context? I've never been there myself (due to said ****** beer. I mean Chai Wheat? BLEH).
This started it:
http://www.contracostatimes.com/bre...keley-pyramid-brewery-workers-protest-layoffs

Staff unionized, upsetting owners, and then the owners claimed there was a Brett or lacto contamination ruining their beers that required shutting the place down for 6-9 months.

They re-opened after a year, but refused to hire any of the previous staff -- and they never resumed brewing in Berkeley, so it was all a pretext to get rid of the union. Bad AND hugely unprofitable. So dumb.
