Where does 3f kriek cost $22? Geuze costs more than that in 99.9% of stores in CA
I see the gueuze for $20-$21, don't remember how much the kriek costs. I suppose it's higher, but probably not more than $25.Where does 3f kriek cost $22? Geuze costs more than that in 99.9% of stores in CA
Yes, pretty much every beer that costs more than 50 cents an ounce has pricing that's unmoored from its production costs. Are you going to list all of them? It's a long list.
My point is just that, in Cascade's particular case, the fact that they use a marginally more expensive ingredient doesn't mean that their costs are what justifies their prices. Nothing justifies their prices, except that apparently there are people out there dumb enough to pay that.
I mostly see the gueuze in the 20-22 range, though I haven't paid a ton of attention to this stuff lately.Where does 3f kriek cost $22? Geuze costs more than that in 99.9% of stores in CA
This, especially the vintages at [Censored]!Let me lie to myself to justify the rare occasion that I buy Cascade!

For the Kriek I usually see $13-16 for 375.I see the gueuze for $20-$21, don't remember how much the kriek costs. I suppose it's higher, but probably not more than $25.
Why are we talking about these PNW ******s in the YAY AREA thread?
Cuvee Rene or Rodenbach.Because I can't find TRB at Whole Foods, I'll just give myself this occasion to try more Cascade--unless you smart folks can recommend some better sours in that aisle =).
The food is good, just a bit pricey for dinner stuff, $25-30. Lunch is more reasonable I believe, but I'd check the menu first. Thanks for the tip, pretty decent taplist!
EDIT: snuffy707, any reason for the "beers only" comment, is the food no good or something? Thought about making grabbing lunch there, but can easily be talked out of it.
I go there fairly often, it's a cool spot and they usually have good options. They use digital pour if you want to see what's on tap at the moment.More 'burbs talk: anyone been to Hop Grenade in Concord? Thinking it might be worth the quick BART trip later this evening, based on their online info.

I just went and got some old standbys I'd probably not get otherwise:As expected Whole Foods didn't really have any great beer's. But seeing as I am putting together a couple of locals4locals boxes it was nice to stock up with a 20% discount, 10 % mix and match discount and some of the beers already on sale.
Edit:I did grab the last 2 bottles of La Vermontoise, so I guess they had one decent thing on the shelf.
WF San MateoWhich place had cascade apricot?
That's a good round number.I mentioned this a few weeks ago but wanted to throw out a reminder for what is shaping up as a possibly awesome event.
I spoke to one of the organizers last night and they had to cap the brewers entrants at 67.
One thing that makes this event interesting is that it requires 10 gallons so it will have a "real" beer festival atmosphere with keg dispensed liquid.
If you come, please say "hi"....oh and vote for my beer.

Yep - just got 30% off a bunch of 3F gueuzeMy WF, at least, has 10% off six or more singles, which apparently stacks with this promotion.
That actually makes it competitive with shipped from Belgium. Nicely done.Yep - just got 30% off a bunch of 3F gueuze
