As Andrew reported, very reasonable pricing and I would recommend 09 and 12 after having tasted 09-14 yesterday.

I had 10 and 12. Both were excellent but thought the 10 was a little better. The acidic finish (which wasn't offensive to begin with) had mellowed out and developed nicely. 14 on draft was also great if you let it warm for about half an hour, so I assume the bottle has to be as well.

Has anyone been to an event at Noc Noc? They have a Jester King/De Garde tasting for $30 starting at 1pm today. Very tempted to check it out.

I've been to Noc Noc a lot and a few times for beer week events. It's a pretty low key place that's not beer snobby at all, which is a mixed blessing - crowds are less obnoxious, but the events are usually not that good. They do seem to be stepping up their game this year though. Only other issue is, when it is crowded, the line moves slow.

Noc Noc is a great spot. Vibe is heavy doses of acid paired with alien abduction and anal probing.

Hopefully it is some Jester King that does not get the limited distro out here every once in a while.

edit: also it is -tion night at Toronado, so it might be packed since they are almost next door.

Kind of my concern as well. I don't want to sit down excited just to get presented La Petit Prince and Mad Meg. I would like to hang out at Noc Noc at some point soon though. Probably next time I can score mushrooms.

I was also thinking about being one of the suckers at -tion night, but the more I comb over things, the more I think my next 48 hours should be: tail end of Almanac at City, stay for Pizza Port, Toronado tomorrow morning for Younger while the masses wait outside Monk's Kettle, Pi Bar in the afternoon for RR vintages, and Speedway night at City.

Does anybody know what the taplist looks like for Pi Bar tomorrow? Plane lands at 2:15 and I'm trying to figure out where to head first after I drop my stuff off.

Yeah, I would totally skip that one. Just go to Toronado way earlier. It will be a better tap list, and no Younger, so at least some of the idiots will be at Pi Bar instead.

No fettuccini bolognese at Toronado. Advantage, Pi Bar.

Idiot checking in. Is tomorrow at Toronado like an unadvertised -tion night part II? I assumed it would all disappear tonight. Trying to avoid the more absurd lines the rest of the week as I feel the deep dicking I took from Monk's Kettle Saturday and Rare Barrel Sunday was sufficient enough.

Appreciate you guys helping out with the intel, by the way. If it's any consolation, I hate myself for being an uninformed rookie too.

I think that is a logical plan for any location that has a tap takeover with lots of people the day before. There should be some good leftover -tion beers tomorrow in the earlier part of the day before they swap out kegs.

If you do go to -tion night, get there early otherwise it will take a good 20 minutes to place an order if you are in. You yell a bunch of numbers and you get your tasters back. One protip is bring a cardboard six pack holder, makes it easier to carry all them around and avoid bumping people and dropping some old ass Temptation or something. Also, mix all the beers for an awesome cuvee.

Also, don't ******* go to -tion night.

I'm going to be interested to see what they have this year. The Deviation is finally gone, I can't imagine there's much Beat B3 left (and last year's keg wasn't even very good), so what's left? Some old regular -tions, maybe FfaC, a Beat B6 keg? Snore. Maybe I'll be surprised, but I doubt it.

They've said T25 (which seems to be peaking, though it's still far from my favorite). I would guess there will be some vintage Sanctification, which always gets me excited, and possibly still some Publication, which is one of my absolute favorites of theirs, especially with age on it.

Yeah, if you show up to Toronado at like 2 p.m. Tomorrow, there will be 15-16 out of the 19 pours tonight still available on tap, if past years are any indication.

Yeah, you live down the street though, right? -tion night used to be a premier event of the week, where you could try legitimate whales that you'd otherwise never see. But I don't think that's going to be true from here on out, and it's definitely not worth braving the crowd unless you legitimately like the feel of manboobs on your back.

Compunction? Forgot if it was on tap in the past year(s). Had it last at the brewery on 4th of July.

Not like I used to -- Inner Sunset now. It's only tolerable if you can show up by 4:30 p.m. and claim a table (usually with Ryan_G jtmartino grrrah and others), then be one of the first people waited on, finish your pours and leave by 6:30 or 7. Otherwise, it's absolutely awful.

I still think 'Tion night has held its quality better than, say the anniversary party, which was downright embarrassing this year.

2013 was pretty exciting with Deviation and 08 Beat. Last year's wasn't spectacular given the effort. I'm curious to see if it was an off year (off year meaning tapping Beat, T25, and Compunction) or if it is going to be a continued trend as Stu surmised. I am out this year. No longer live around the corner and booked the day up with non-beer stuff.

I'm heading up, probably get there around 3:30ish... so I can check it off and never have to go again. Will let y'all know what's pouring.

Likewise! Let me know if you ever feel like leaving the beer desert for a pint.
Nice! Good to know!

...

God, our neighborhood has the worst bars in town. I'm pretty close to UCSF. Where are you at?

I should note, of course, that I'm traveling this week, so I don't have the option of making bad choices this year.

2013 was the best year I've been to. Kicked the crap out of the couple years before it.
I mean, Deviation, 08 Beatification, Framboise Cuvee, Compunction, Publication, and 2-year old Sanct? DAAAAAMN.

Seriously, the best tap list I've found is at Inner Fog. That's just sad. I'm basically at 3rd & Irving, sounds like nearby -- will host a tasting sometime and drag everyone out here to the wilderness.

Pretty much Inner/Outer Sunset/Richmond is a wasteland no?

6th and Hugo, baby! Agreed that Inner Fog is the best -- and extremely sad -- option.

That's what we all did last year and it was fine.

Richmond at least has the Tee Off, Richmond Republic, Chomp N Swig...
Sunset at least is close to Upper Haight. You make it east of the Richmond and you are in Western Addition/Lower Pac Heights. You got Fat Angel which is cool, I guess.

Outer Richmond, yes. When I lived on 25th and California spent a lot of time at 540 Club and their Sunday BBQs. Nice craft beer spot, and they have a new place now Chomp and Swig, both of these are more Inner.

We are in Diamond Heights now, got to run down the hill now for Pi Bar or explore Dark Horse Inn.

You guys aren't going to the Younger tapping at Loving Hut!?!?
