From the time I hit the register in the bottle-only line, it took nearly 5 minutes until I was out the door with a case of Beat and 3 bottles each of Pliny and Blind Pig. I was timing it.

Like...are you ****** serious?

You'd think that the one brewery on the West Coast with years and years of experience dealing with long-ass lines for a bottle release would do it better. But instead, every year they reveal themselves to be a bunch of idiots.

They want the publicity and hype of the line going down 4th St, wrapping around the block and going down D St, and going down 5th St. I think the next Beat release, the line will come full circle down E St.

Other than the ridonkulous line which is going to happen regardless for Beat, what other complaints do you have? We had cases delivered to our table, got to drink lots of Beat on tap while having lunch. What else did you want?
Congrats for being in the 1/2 of the line that benefitted from the other half getting screwed by poor/zero line organization and bad I structions from RRBC staff. Slow service just happened to be a seperate issue that day.

I didn't benefit from anyone getting screwed, I was there at 6:30ish and we got the last tables outside before they stopped seating folks and did the whole second line BS. Slow service is almost a guarantee when there's wall-to-wall people inside and very little room for servers to actually move around.

That place is a zoo on a normal day. I gave up going on big bottle release day hahha.

Firestone Walker brewing Pliny for a month or so.....okay......

No, new brewing equipment means no brewing at RR production facility for a while. The press release makes it clear it is not expantion.

since I got stuck in Chicago, I'm flying home today. I'll be home for a bit, so I might go by city beer this afternoon. anyone else going?

Having never been before, I am perhaps foolishly going to head up to RR on Wednesday. If anyone wants a ride from the Sunset/Richmond I'm happy to carpool.

And they had some other great offerings, like the Berliners at CBS, and Side Project stuff (fuzzy, flanders, etc.), in house only at Mikkeller.
