Drinking Cellarmaker Tiny Dankster. This place makes hoppy beers at or above anywhere.....Vermont, San Diego....holy ****. As a guy who has 14 mile access to Alpine at home, 1 mile to Societe at work......God damn.

Went to RR today....as good as always.....but damn why go there when Cellarmaker is 45 min closer to the in laws. Check it out bay area bros!

That's the best place to stock up. Got myself a case of Almanac Punkin for like $7.50 a bottle a year ago.
Cool place. Only the awful Sourdough was on the shelf. I asked about BlackBerry and Pluot.....'yeah several cases of each how many do you want?' Boing!

Oh, we know.

Between them and Faction, we are finally getting a regular supply of some good, balanced IPAs around here that aren't RR.
Omfg Mo Galaxy......was Mo Citra as amazing?

Pretty excited to try that one tomorrow on my first visit to Cellarmaker. Sounds like it's right up my alley.

Has anyone ever checked a growler in their luggage before? How much bubble wrap would I need to even consider that? Thinking about brining DmouthCaliBrewz a growler of Cellarmaker if MoGalaxy or Tiny Dankster are as good as I expect them to be.

Same as checking bottles. Make sure it's padded and has no room to shuffle around and you'll be ok.

Went to this place once shortly after they opened and had a good time - http://www.abbotscellar.com/menu-beer-bottle.shtml

Totally forgot how ridiculous their prices are. They more or less triple the cost of what you'd find a bottle for in a store - $58 for Cascade Kriek, Hannsens Oude Gueuze $30 (375mL), Cuvee de Tomme for $36.

Went to Monk's once, and never went back there or Abbot's cellar. Lots of > restaurants in the City to choose from.

If you are looking for a spot with great food and a killer tap/bottle list that isn't going to rape your wallet like that, try Bar Crudo on Divisadero and grab a Pliny or RR at Mini Bar before or after.

Abbott's does have a cool bottle share on Wednesday nights after they close.

Tragically, that's only double-price on the Tomme...

I agree their bottle prices are way over the top. Some good shares go down sometimes.

You should been there last week. It got pretty intense.

Do you know Brando? He's one of the cooks and a good friend of mine. Great dude.

I don't know Brando, but went a while back.

How was the share last week? It usually kicks off after closing, right?
Yep, right at 10. It was a good share. My home-brewed brett IPA that I brought just to give Brando a taste turned out to be a shocking highlight (better than any other bottle).

Of the real stuff, I can recall

Alesmith BA Wee Heavy
Bell's Bourbon Cherry Stout
L'Brett D'or
Jack's Abby Berliner Braun Lager
Sierra -- 30th Black Barleywine

As highlights. Not at all crazy, but a nice midweek stop. And totally worth it for the Bell's Bourbon Cherry alone. That beer is worth its hype based on my pour.

Heh, I've still never been to either of those places, Healthy Spirits, Ol, Trappist Provisions...
Trappist Provisions actually has good prices on some things. I think the last LPG I got there was like $34. More expensive than the lowest price you'll see in America? Yeah, but not by a lot, and probably comparable to shipping it from Europe.
