They don't send enough to distributors around the Bay Area, so yes.

I'm tired of truck-chasing 42,000 bottle releases from our own state that languish on shelves everywhere else. Let someone else bother with that. Aside from Parabola and the anniversaries, I don't miss any of their beers.
The Anni beers seem to sit for a month or so due to price. Don't usually have an issue getting on of those. Parabola or Sucaba or hell even Stickee Monkee this yr though is always ******* annoying. Parabola didn't even make to the shelves this yr at most places.

I had a little trouble getting 14-16, but the most recent one was fairly easy (and I thought it was fantastic). Still, I'm happy to save the $500 or whatever I used to spend on Firestone annually and put it towards something else.

I have seen a lot of California traders asking Chicago for Parabola in exchange for BCBS... it's very bizarre!

I did that for 2013 Parabola (got 2 from Chicago and traded 2 Beats for 2 more bottles). Then I hit a "WTF am I doing" moment, which is when I stopped buying them completely.

Great beer, but it's like what they say about hot women... Someone out there is tired of their ****.

That $$ is better spent toward going to the FWI and gettin' weird at the house bottle shares.

I bought 19 parabola last year from one place in SF over 3 different trips, and I always left 2-3 on the shelf each time.

This year, same place, 1pp.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seems like some places are getting smarter. Others aren't, IE for BCBS the Bevmo in Oakland got 5 cases and they went to 3 ppl, Parabola they got 1 case and it went to 2 ppl.

Bevmo in SF (kinda outer mission area) had a single 4-pack per person per day. Weird that the same chain across the bay didn't restrict.

All BevMo stores were supposed to restrict to 1 4-pack per day. A lot of employees didn't get the memo. Luckily for me, the beer buyer at my store knew about the restriction but didn't care - they just wanted to see the beer go to a regular customer.

Interesting, I hadn't heard that. The cashier I asked about it didn't seem to know/care at all, so I got a case. There seemed to be plenty to go around considering it was on some Bevmo store's inventory lists for weeks afterwards. If you care enough, the trip up to San Rafael or Novato isn't really that hard, is it?

I traded quite a few '13 BCBCS to Chicago guys. Was easy to acquire 2 cases of it here when those guys were scrambling for single bottles.

When you dont have a car it is. That turns into quite the expensive beer trip.

The Bevmo in Albany had the 1 4pk per customer per day rule as well which is where I found a pack. Did you go to the emeryville bevmo?

Just took a short* detour on a work errand. Picked up the new bottles at Russian River and got some Blind Pig, which I simply don't see around here at all anymore. Passed on the Sonoma Pride glass, at $12 I don't think i'll bother.

* kind of long really, 15 minute round trip turned into a little over 3 hours

4 people. I got 4 4 packs of BCBS before they put it on the shelves.

Another Bevmo still had BCBS all the way until Jan or something crazy. 3 cases, too.

Enjoying the two Sonoma Pride beers tonight, thought the bottle dates were interesting. One is mid Oct 13 and the other Dec 13.

how much are fills for IPAs at cellarmaker? also they'll fill a RR growler if it's covered up right?
Depends on the beer. $9-12 for 1L, I think. $17-20 for 64oz. Will fill a RR growler and will cover it if it's not but prefer if you bring it covered. Subtract $1 for 759s, add $1 for 2L. All this is from memory, don't quote me. But say hi to Connor for me if you go.

ooh, so they'll fill about anything, as long as the old logos are covered? Are they super busy on weekends usually? Will be up there the 4th weekend and will probably stop by at some point.
