hey guys, SkunkDrool is getting into town and hoping to go straight to Beer Rev but hasn't eaten and doesn't know the area well. That burger spot next door closed a while back didn't it? Any other spots right there anyone can vouch for? Isn't there a legit vegan spot right around there?
A hot dog place opened where the burger spot used to be, ate there in October and it was good. Not amazing, but good. Both the hot dog place and Souley Vegan are good options.

Drove past last weekend, the hot dog place is gone already.

He gave up and is hitting whatever truck is over at Drake's. I'm meeting him at Beer Rev in a bit. I may finally give the vegan spot a try. Thanks for the input fellas.

It's not bad. It's down right terrible.

But its been a year since I've been there. So maybe there's hope?

The nachos to go at Plank, 2 short blocks away, used to be solid.
I've been eating there occasionally for like 6 years, it's fine. It's not winning any awards but it's pretty cheap and things are freshly made.

I was fan of Chomp and Swig. The thing that I didn't like is that it was so small that there were almost never seats available. Have to expect the new place will to be bigger, so that's nice. Man, with Heartbaker closing and Hot Sauce and Panko moving, that little area of Clement went from awesome to...no reason to go at all unless you need home brew supplies.
I wonder if service at the new C&S will rise above "Oh, ****, there are customers! Give me a minute, I'm partway through this blunt. Oh, and our register, tap system and oven aren't working, so we only trade bags of chips for weed now."

Oh wow, I’ve never been a huge fan of C&S but it’s a nice place to have a casual drink in the neighborhood that isn’t one of the college bars or that awful Richmond republic place. Not surprised they’re taking over Euromart’s spot. That place was destined to fail with the amount of (better) russian deli’s in the area.

I had to take what I could get when I lived in central Richmond. The fact that they had any good taps at all put them head and shoulders above everything else out there for beer. It did take forever to get a sando, tho. Richmond Republic sounded great, but agreed that it's not so much in practice. I'd just as soon go to Steins or 540 Club if I'm in that part of the Richmond.

Oh, I kind of loved C&S. The service was always legendarily bad, though.

I had a gf that lived at 12th and Clement 2010/2011ish. I was just getting into beer at the time, but god that place was a wasteland. I remember being excited because 540 Club at a Brother David's beer once. Oh and Pizza Orgasmica.

Best blueberry pale ale with unidentified brewing flaws ever, man.

Real talk, does anyone know if the Orgasmicas were extract brew systems? I had only gone to the San Rafael one but it looked like it was just a kettle and fermenters. I could be misremembering, tho. Tried about four of their beers before deciding that was enough.

I think a lot more brewers are extract or at least partial-mash than they are willing to admit. I don't know how you have mash/lauter tun equipment and still manage to produce a ****** homebrew-flavored beer.

not beer-related, but did anybody score an extra NIN pre-sale ticket this weekend? I'm trying to plan a bay area trip this year and it may end up revolving around that show if I can get my ass in the door.

Anyone check in with Temescal in awhile? Haven’t been there in awhile and they’ve done a bunch of can releases that I have heard nothing about. Anything hitting Fieldwork level?

Since they got a new brewer, their hoppy ****'s been pretty damn good. Like a different brewery altogether.

Interesting, might need to check it out.

Although I'm still butthurt about them upholding basically none of their kickstarter promises. Like how ******* hard would it have been?
