I can't seem to find the best link here to sort out water issues. If I know my water report from my city, where do I go to understand how to adjust and with what chemicals? It seems quite complicated. I assume that there is some calculus to make adjustments on a per gallon basis? I didn't see any wiki article that would say. For my example I know that my alkalinity is 280, my total water hardness is 369 and my sulphates are are 320. However, I don't know what that really means or if and how I should make adjustments.

That was fast. It looks pretty painless. I am, as always, much obliged for the good help.

Also do a search for water adjustments. Bobby M has a video on using the spreadsheet too. Plenty of information......

Great video! I'll be sure to watch the rest, but already it makes a lot more sense. I would love to know if there is a good home test. I called my utility and they draw the water from ten wells, and alternate, which means my water would never be identical from day to day, depending on the well. They show a range that is fairly broad. If there were a home test, it would be helpful.
