That vent hood is beautiful! I would really like to make one like it. What did you use to create your drip channel? Also, what did you line the inside with? It reminds me of aluminum air duct tape but looks like it is all one piece. I was considering making one of wood and using FRP on the inside, but I'm not sure how it would handle the heat.

The drip channel were long pieces of very thin lightweight aluminum angles that I found at Home Depot. They had a lip on them that keeps the moisture back. Found it in the section where aluminum sheeting was at. Maybe 1/16in thickness ? Used adhesive to connect them to the wood. The inside is lined with aluminum airduct tape. It all works great.

Yes it it! I love mine! It will spoil you in a hurry. Once you are used to it you will have extra downtime in your brew day. It also turns your system into a great sous vide cooker!

Yeah. Plan to try some sous vide items soon !

What fan? What did you use to line the hood and what are you using for the drip edge? How's it holding up?

It's a Vortex Powerfan. Same one used here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/ventilation?page=4

I lined the hood with simple aluminum duct tape. It works great. The drip edges were pieces of roofing edge flashing (very very thin) that I found at Home Depot. Very cheap and work great. Cut them to size and used an adhesive to fix them to the edges of the hood.

Cool thanks I think I'm going the same route. I thought about using galvanized steel on the inside but yours is much easier to work with and think would be cheaper.

Beautiful build! Looks like you've really done things up right and didn't skimp on any aspect! :mug: Cheers!
