I made a barleywine thats in primary now. Its 12% abv. I have 4 lbs. of raisins soaking in about 650ml.of a 47% rum. Any idea what my abv. would be after 3 months in the secondary? Im quessing about 1% on the rum and know idea on the raisins. Just looking for an aprox. for labeling bottles.

19000ml (5 gallons) at 12% + 650ml at 47%
2280ml of ethanol + 305ml of ethanol = 2585ml in 19650ml
= 13.1%

There are 17g of sugar per oz of raisins. 17g x 16 x 4 = 1088g of sugar. lets round to 1kg. in 19650ml (yes the sugar adds volume but this is back of the envelope) thats going to add ~1.020 to the gravity.

Since the beer is already at 13%, and I assuming you arent using an unusual yeast strain, im going to assume that additional 1.020 attenuated poorly (plus all the sugar in the raisins probably didnt go in solution.) lets assume ~40% attenuation. that would add 1.05 % abv.

13.1 + 1.05 = 14.15.
