Has anyone found a good solution for protecting barbed fittings from insects/spiders during storage? I guess I can flush anything out during pre-brew cleaning, but I'd like to avoid creepy-crawlies making a home in there, if possible. I was thinking of some sort of cover or plug, but a quick Amazon search came up empty.

I know I'm showing up late to the conversation and a solution has already been found, but buying hose barb covers is not the route everyone will want to take. A simple solution is to use a short piece of tubing and slide it right onto the barb. The open end of the tube can be sealed off with anything; tape, caulk, or pinch and melt it.
