Hey guys. Wasn't sure where to post this, thought this would be the best spot.
I've been brewing with my buds in my friend's basment, but we need to find a new place to brew.
Does anyone have advice in regards to finding a place to rent for brewing?

Well I don't see why you'd need to rent a space for brewing. It doesn't really take up much space unless you have a fairly elaborate system. All you need is a stovetop and some table/counter/floor space to put all the kegs and carboys while you're actually cooking them up.

If it's completely necessary to actually rent a place, I'd just go for something as simple as a storage unit although it may get too cold in there this time of the year to make Ales.

Yeah, we are transitioning to 10 gallon all-grain batches, and building a fairly elaborate set-up. I was just wondering if anyone out there has experience with renting a space, and if there were any unexpected complications or anything else I should know.

The problem is that we don't have a patio or backyard, or much of a kitchen either. Just looking for advice for someone who has rented before.

nevermind...

Ive done 10 gallons in my kitchen before. it works if your stove will handle it... 10 gallons doesn't take up much more space than 5, just more BTU's

Check and/or post on craigslist. A lot of people have sheds/unattached garages that they rent out for storage or whatever. You can maybe find someone that would let you rent it for brewing.

Most commercial storage places won't let you do any kind of "activity" other than moving things in or out. At the very least, you may get away with it a few times before they notice and tell you to stop.

Probably gonna be $200+ /month for a decent space like a garage or shed. Thats my two cents :)

You are gonna pay a lot of money to have a space with sinks, water, electric, and drains. Baltimore is pricey. To have a space that will support an "elaborate setup", you're probably looking at a lot of dough. The other issue, is that a commercial space will want to know what you're using it for. And if I owned the property, I'd wanna know what you're doing in my space.
