Ball valve cleaning

How often do you clean your ball valves and change your teflon tape?

I haven’t cleaned mine in over 10 years. I do recirculate a couple of gallons during the boil while slowly opening and closing the valve.

Every 3 to 5 brews. I don't change the teflon tape unless I need to take the valve off for another reason.

I occasionally split the valves (they're all 3-piece) but I've never changed tape...
