Hello All,
My local HBS has started carrying Avangard German Pale Ale Malt at a good price. I will be going there early next week and was thinking of buying a bag to use as my base malt for various beers. Does anyone have any experience with this malt?

Thanks in advance \Clearbeer1:ban:

I have used their wheat, good grain, very dirty. Found stones in it. Will not use it again as I like my mill

My local shop started carrying their stuff in place of Weyermann (at the 1lb bag level, still Weyermann in the full sacks), and I have not been particularly impressed.

You get what you pay for. It'll make good beer, but for a few dollars more per batch you can make better beer.

I have made good beer with their Pilsener, Vienna, Munich Light, and Pale Ale malts. I have been satisfied with it and have gone through at least two sacks of each. Note that their Pale Ale malt is a bit maltier/more biscuity than an American Pale Ale malt.

Thanks for the link to the other thread JSGuitar. Seems like most prefer the Pils malt over the pale ale. I may try that instead since it is only $3 more a bag.
Will post again to give results/opinion of it.
