I'm interested in buying a automated home brew system such as picobrew, however I don't know much about them. I'm looking for something small, counter top ideally, bread maker size, that doesn't rely on custom ingredient packs and is a reasonable price.
I already have a grainfather (its fantastic) but I'm finding that I don't really have the time required to brew using it (because of work and we have an 18 month old).
The picobrew pro looked good, its small, fully automated and a reasonable price. However my impression is that it needs custom ingredient packs. I'm not keen on this because I wouldn't want to be locked into something, also I'm after something that I can throw crushed malt and hops into myself.
Is there anything out there that would fit my needs?
