Having an issue with my auto siphon. Anytime I have transferred beer using the auto siphon, I get bubbles coming up from the racking cane and get transferred with the beer into the next container. I'm brewing a batch tomorrow morning so I needed to transfer a pale ale out of the primary today and get it cleaned.

So I tested the auto siphon with a bucket in my sink before the transfer and I had no issues, no bubbles. Then I transferred the beer, and I had bubbles the entire time. Well actually it started off 'normal' with no bubbles, then with 30 seconds or so the bubbles started to come in. I stopped it, tried to tighten everything and started again, unfortunately the bubbles kept coming. After I was done and cleaning everything and tried it again in my sink with a bucket of water and the this time no bubbles!

Anyone experience this before? I wonder if I should contact northern brewer to see if I can get an exchange...

I have this issue with beers that have lots of dry hop additions. Some of the hop debris gets sucked into the bottom of the auto siphon causing turbulence which produces bubbles.

I don't have the ability to cold crash so next batch I'm gonna try dry hopping using a sanitized muslin sack.

I had a similar issue with an autosiphon I bought to replace my original that had cracked. The rubber gasket on the end of the smaller cane had a defect and wouldn't form a complete seal with the inside of the outer cane, allowing air to be drawn into my beer as it racked.

I tried to futz with it but ended up just taking it back to my LHBS for a new one.

If you're certain there is no leak at the connection, then it's just co2 coming out of solution and it won't hurt anything.
If it's bad enough you can get a lot of foam after you transfer to a keg or another container for bottling.

This sometimes happens to me, it's air bubbles in your line. The way I fix it is crimp the tubing with my finger to stop the flow then let it start up again. The air bubbles get pushed to the bottom and out the end of the bottling wand and then it's a smooth flow of liquid after that. You may want to let the bottle overflow a bit to make sure the air got pushed out of the bottle, and you should be good to go after that.

It does suck but it's easily fixable

I once tried to tie some cheesecloth over the end of my cane to filter trub. It created bubbles like crazy. It may be been CO2 coming out of suspension around the cloth. Either way I didn't like it, so I ditched the cloth and it has been fine since.

If it works fine with water then it's just CO2 coming out of solution don't sweat it.
