Attempting to convert a whiskey drinker...

So, I have a friend of mine who is coming down to Indy for the 500, and I would like to brew up a batch of homebrew for him and his wife. Unfortunately, he is more of a whiskey drinker (think jack and coke) so I'm having a hard time thinking of a style that he and the missus would like. I figure I would ask the brilliant hive mind that is the homebrew forum for suggestions. So, in your experience, what styles have worked on whiskey drinking individuals?

In my current setup, I can only do extract/steeping grains and probably any spice or fruit beer.

Get him some Bourbon County Stout. That ought to convert anyone.

edit: Oh, right, you want to brew something. Why not a stout aged on whiskey soaked oak?

I'd get him drinking good whiskey first. As one taste improves, so goes the rest.

Actually, the 500 is in on the 29th of May, so I have about a month and a half to let it ferment.

Well,here's the short version of my idea. Brew up a dark ale kit. Then have bourbon soaked oak cubes ready to secondary with. You would then have what used to be called "whiskely". Porters & stouts were used as well,but take longer. Plus they have a stronger flavor. The cooper's dark ale is said to be good. I forget the dark ale it's based on;wasn't theirs. But another one. That's what I'm going to use,with some other "enhancements".

jack and cokes wasn't what I thought of when I read "whiskey drinker". I was thinking that if his pallet is refined enough to enjoy the subtleties of good whiskey, it should be easy to pick a style. Alas, that's not the case. It sounds like he likes sweet drinks, maybe a milk stout or a porter with lots of crystal malts.

I am a whiskey drinker... no need to convert. Think "compliment"... and think EdWort's Pale Ale.. or some sort of a low ABV mild.
