Went to a brew fest last night and really enjoyed stone's Red X IPA so I did a little research on their website and I'm going to attempt to clone it or get something reminiscent of their red ipa.

14lbs Best Malz Red X malt
.8oz Amarillo FWH
1 oz Mosaic 60 min
1 oz Cascade 15 min
1 oz Mosaic 10 min
.5 oz each Mosaic Cascade Amarillo dry hopped 5 days
Gonna use white labs 001 California Ale yeast

Similar in abv and ibu's to what stone lists on their site going to start here might end up adding more dry hops in later versions because theirs was very aromatic

I've never used the malt, hope it works out well for you. As far as the hops I wouldn't use such nice aroma hops for FW or 60 min. Use something like warrior or magnum to hit your IBUs then lay on the aroma hops. I'd use at least 3oz for aroma and 3oz as dry hop

I bumped up the dry hops and I was just going off of their website with the hops they say they used and I hit their ibu's. I'll see how it goes and adjust for version 2

Amarillo as FWH?

Hop Shot probably better for bittering if you only want to use the hops they named...

My next brew after tonight will be a red rye IPA using Red X. Last batch with the experimental hops, going to dry-hop it with Mosaic.

Let us know how it turns out, please!
