At what point should I be worried if I'm not seeing signs of fermentation?

Hey there all. I've dabbled in homebrewing before but recently I decided to get serious and decided the first thing I would make is some mead. I made a 3 gallon batch using 3 pounds of honey per gallon, and added some orange zest, orange juice, cinnamon, and vanilla (and a teaspoon of nutrient). I think I did everything right, but I'm not seeing any signs of fermentation, and it's been over 24 hours since I pitched the yeast. When should I start to get worried?

hi and welcome :)

can you post details of your recipie please.
really need to know things like what yeast, what nutrient, what temp it is at, what temp did you pitch the yeast, how did you pitch the yeast?

some yeasts won't show any signs of ferment in 24 hours but others will. there is various factors involved. i would not get worried just yet.

I've waited almost 72 hours before....only to find it suddenly boiling.
