I have completed my brutus clone. I'll be getting some pics up shortly after a few tweaks and my excitement has died down :). I have a question for any of you that use the ASCO valves. I noticed that the green part of the valve seems to be hot to the touch while the valve is operating and open. Is that normal? This is without the gas actually being on to the burner just some dry tests.

It is normal for the coil to be up to 100 degrees F. above ambient temperature. If you change coils from DC to AC you need to change the valve plunger at same time otherwise you will burn out the coil.
