I saw some folks discussing the Arctic King 5 (link) but I couldn't find anyone discussing the larger 7 cu. ft. model: Arctic King 7 (WHS-258C1WSB). Walmart sells this freezer for $198 in white or $219 in black. It was the only 7 cu. ft. freezer available in black that I found at the time of my search. It is equal to the Arctic King 5 in every dimension except width. I'd like to share my measurements here in order to help others. Overall it's narrow in depth and tall in height compared to other 7 cu. ft. class freezers. As a result I find that it will handle the following configurations. The shallow depth reduces capacity by 1 keg generally compared to other 7 cu. ft. models. I will follow up next week when I'm finished with my 2x6 collar build. I'm happy to draw up any configurations on request if you're trying to fit something I didn't simulate. All of these capacities are in theory based on the dimensions below. Real world results might differ.
  • No Collar:
    • 3 Ball-Lock
    • 3 Pin-lock (pretty tight)
    • 2 1/6 bbl. + 1 ball-lock (pin-lock very doubtful)
  • 2x6 Collar - Same as no collar plus 1 pin-lock on hump
  • 2x8 Collar - 3 ball-lock in main area + 2 ball-lock on hump. Any config with 2 ball-lock on hump probably precludes anything but ball-locks in main area.
Freezer Dimensions:
  • Exterior: 20.59" (D) x 37.20" (W) x 33.46" (H). Includes hinges.
  • Interior: 14-13/16" (D) x 32-3/16" (W) x 26-5/16" (H) (Before compressor hump)
  • Hump: 14-13/16" (D) x 8-3/16" (W) x 8-5/16" (H)
Model Sizes:
  • Ball-Lock: 8-1/2" x 25"
  • Pin-Lock: 9" x 21"
  • 1/6 bbl. 9-1/4" x 23-3/8"

Today I got everything up and running. No real surprises on sizes so far. I haven't been able to test it at capacity yet. Hump height capacity came right in around 25-3/8" with a 2x6 collar. I've attached a bunch of photos to help give a visual of the interior.

I want to keep the tank outside and the regulator inside, so I bought a high pressure air hose. KegConnection inadvertently sent me a right hand thread air hose. I was able to find a guy locally to Frankenstein the two connectors together for me at 3 pm on a Friday. Life Saver!

Still have some more work to do on mounting the reg and attaching a drip tray. However, it pushes cold beer!

Well crap...was looking at same one but I need 4 on the floor

I'm considering this freezer with a 6" collar. Any possibility of getting 3 ball locks, a 5 gallon carboy, and a 10# CO2 tank in there with a 6" collar?
