I can't seem to find the answer by seaching, so here it goes.

I recently stopped in an orchard to buy fresh squeezed apple juice to make a batch of cider. The grower also gave me a bottle of apple syrup he also makes and it made me wonder...Has anyone tried using apple syrup to sweeten and prime their cider?

If yes, what was your result?

apple syrup, like maple syrup? or apple concentrate? I have used aj concentrate to sweeten and carb, it adds a bit of apple back to the mix.

Is it boiled down juice? If cider has been boiled to reduce it to a syrupy consistency the pectin in it has set up. That is what causes it to thicken. No reason you cant use it to prime or back-sweeten but it will definitely yield a very cloudy cider due to the pectin.
