Hello - I just found an apple crusher that I've started fixing... Pics to come soon..
>Has a galvanized hopper
>Rotted wood underside
>1/3 HP motor @ 1750 RPM
>12" wheel to the motor

...I've already taken it apart, cleaned it, and started to replace the wood base.
...Question is about the motor. Does it seem like a proper motor for this application?
...and is a galvanized hopper OK once it starts to oxidize? I've sanded most of the rust off, but it "looks" bad.. Is it safe?
Thanks!

That motor is probably just fine. Maybe try to get some acrylic resin to coat the hopper with?
