I've made 2 batches of apple wine so far. One kegged, the other still clearing. I want to try an apple pear mix. And a couple vanilla beans.

I'm thinking:

Bottled apple juice
Bottled or canned pear (juice or whole)
Honey
Vanilla bean
Montrachet

Thoughts? Anyone try something like this?

Unless you use true cider pears (tough to find in the USA), you most likely won't taste the pears. Regular eating pears have a pretty mild flavour & are easily overpowered.
Regards, GF.

I was afraid of that. Well, I picked up a couple bottles to experiment with anyway. It will be good practice between now and when I can get fresh fruit in the fall.

There's a chance that it has preservatives, but you could always try picking up a couple cans of pears in the syrup. Just chop up the pears and dump them in with the syrup. That might help bring out a little more pear flavor.
