In New York City? If so, you need to see what your local store caries. The best and cheapest are two different things. If you can still get any fresh pressed juice and it doesn't have preservatives, use that. Many people use frozen apple juice.
I like "simply apple" available in the cold juice section.

Simple Apple is good but not cheap. Mussel mans is cheap and good - if you can find it. Try Walmart. Mine just ran out in CT.
 
I used Motts for my last one. It's still in the fermenter but it appears to have worked. I picked that because I should be able to find it easily to replicate at a future date.
 
Motts, TreeTop, or Costco (Kirkland) apple juice. Be careful when you buy off brand sometimes the apple juice is from China.
