By some twist of the law in Michigan, cider bottles do not have a bottle deposit on them like beer bottles. Therefore, I have a growing collection of them from family members with that taste preference. I assume/hope they are safe for bottling homebrew, but before I spend the time soaking labels off and potentially wasting beer (gods forbid), anyone see a problem with them?

TIA and sorry if this repeats a thread, but I couldn't find one.

They are very likely the exact same bottle. Cider often is carbed higher than beer, so there should be no issues with those bottles.

Most of the cider I see is twist-off......I didn't know many used crown caps.

I'm only keeping the non-twistoff. They seem to be more common here, or maybe its just what my sons tend to pickup.
