Would an apfelwein with orange peel work? I'm waiting on my first batch, but the 1/2 cup I had while bottling tasted like a tart / dry, slightly sweet white wine (freakin awesome). I'm wondering if anyone's tried, or if anyone thinks orange peel would be a good addition to Apfelwein. The name "Apfelwein Das Orange" is not permanent (but I kinda like it) and was my gf's response to 'how do you say orange in german'.
