Apfelwein Das Orange...?

Would an apfelwein with orange peel work? I'm waiting on my first batch, but the 1/2 cup I had while bottling tasted like a tart / dry, slightly sweet white wine (freakin awesome). I'm wondering if anyone's tried, or if anyone thinks orange peel would be a good addition to Apfelwein. The name "Apfelwein Das Orange" is not permanent (but I kinda like it) and was my gf's response to 'how do you say orange in german'.

Anyway, Orange peel in apfelwein, opinions?

I am trying it now. Got a gallon of it going with about an oz of sweet orange peel floating in it. I have a thread I started on it about 6 weeks ago and I will be updating how it turns out in about 2 weeks.
