Just brewed another Pale Ale what do you think of this:
1 lb 60L steeped at 165degF for 30 minutes
5.5 lbs Light Dry Malt Extract
60 min boil
.5 oz Amarillo @ 60 min left
.5 oz Cascade @ 45 min left
.5 oz Cascade @ 30 min left
.5 oz Cascade @ 15 min left
.5 oz Cascade @ 5 min left
Ice Bath to 74deg. Pitched US 05 yeast. Total about 6 gallons.
Gravity before yeast: 1.04
My fermentation temperature has been mostly 68F-70F with a couple hot moments at 74F.
Right now it's still in Primary on day 17 of fermentation. I did primary in my bottling bucket so I figure I'm going to have to rack to my carboy before going back into the bottling bucket. Any suggestions on time in secondary? Should I dry-hop?
Is it an IPA or an APA? I was thinking about dry hopping another .5 to 1 of Cascade.
