The pumpkin pie from Costco was way soft and melty in the middle this year. In fact the crust hadn't even started to really brown, so that should have told me something

I just put the remaining two thirds back into oven and it took well over 30 minutes to get the crust to brown up and the center to get some solidity to it.

Not sure if that was right, just wondering what I will end up with when it cools down.

Hope everyone in US had a good thanksgiving.

Never recooked a pie, but the first and last time I had KFC I did recook. Ordered extra crispy. Got home the stuff was slimy white. Should have put it in the oven at 450° instead of 350°.

edit: Never bought a pie.

I haven't bought a pie since a friend showed me how easy it is to make my own crust. Pumpkin is maybe the easiest pie I make regularly.

That said, I can hardly believe a store-bought pie is underdone. Something serious happened at QC to allow that past inspection.

Yeah well all you pie makers, I don't like most pies so never bothered.

:p :p

Anyway, it went back into oven and in 10 min increments it took just over 30 minutes to appear set. It is much better now, and I am not ded yet.

The wife picked up a pumpkin costco pie this year. It was cooked okay. But that's a good idea to cook it some more.
