So I was just watching a little of Big Love, and it started me wandering. Does anyone here (other than Cheesefood of course) have multiple wives? And if you do, is your second wife a former porn star? Just wonder how all that works out.

At the same time or traditional serial polygamy?

My business partner's paternal grandfather had four wives at the same time.

Man.... that's heavy..... I can barely keep up with the demands of one....

At the same time of course...anyone can handle five wives one after the other, don't you think?

I still say... check the mental institutes. I'm sure there are plenty there... poor souls, they never had a chance.

I grew up in Park City, and I went to high-school with two polygamist families' kids. They were.... interesting.... people to say the least.

I'm pretty sure that when one wife was p***ed off at you they all would be p***ed off. One wife yelling at you is bad enough. Having them all gang up would really suck.

Bwahahaha! I plead the fifth! :D

Am I the only one whos interest was piqued by that? Why is it that a woman can merely leave that question open and we start drooling ? Is it because it's so f.ing COOL???? Or are we just that simple? Or is it just that cool?

Just wondering...

If it's so cool, why do most guys refuse to really consider it? They want us to take the "2 women, 1 man" thing seriously, but won't reciprocate.

It's millions of years of evolution at work there.

In most animal 'social' settings, there is one male that is dominant, some subordinate males, and a group of females. Only the alhpa male is allowed to mate, and does so with all females in the group.

allowing another man into the picture is against our very nature.

God, where the hell was I reading it... there have been some studies done that indicate when a man suspects (even subconsiously) that his partner has been cheating on him, he will ejaculate a greater quantity of sperm to "flush out" any interloper's semen (or at least to overwhelm it with numbers). Oh, it was in one of Dan Savage's books, when he gets into the physiology of group sex. Women can have multiple orgasms, so (if they are open to it) group sex works out very well for them - and this reaction can cause the male response to be much more powerful as well.

Don't have any personal experience in this regard (pretty confident my wife's been faithful). Although now that I think about it - after going out drinking with a group of friends that includes her legendarily-endowed former lover, we always tended to have, shall we say "GOOD times." :D

What's your point, Brewsister?? I guess a compromise would be the " 2 women, man watching" approach. Guess we still wouldn't be willing to reciprocate with that one either. Bad example!!

You're right - BAD example...

Most men are closet lesbians... :p :D

You're right. I've been out with it since about 1981. I remember when I told my Dad that I was a lesbian. He just gave me this blank look for awhile before confessing to me that he was one too. I guess it must be genetic, or something. Luckily, Mrs. Monkey understands and helps me to be a practicing lesbian. She says I'll get it right someday, but until then, I should just keep practicing... a little higher and faster... more to the right.

BWAH--- brilliant!

I think the "Why don't we reciprocate" thing has an easy solution... because, as dudes, we find other dudes gross, especially in close proximity to our dude-ly parts. Whereas women... are universally understood to be pretty.*

We don't find other women attractive, either, but (assuming we're willing) we'd look past that so everyone is happy. But what's good for the goose is good for the gander. ;) (All exceedingly moot at this point, since I can't even find one guy to date. Bwahaha!)

My favorite!

I've been one of the wrappers on a pirate sandwich occasionally, but getting a threesome to work is difficult, short-term or long-term. The only ones I know personally that have lasted started out as two couples and one of the men got dumped.

My girlfriend likes other women, but we just don't seem to make it happen. We keep finding women who have so much baggage and problems in the head that we don't want to get involved.

Maybe we're just too damn picky. But then again, there has to be an emotional connection to make it work. We're both looking for a relationship for our relationship, as strange as that sounds. We've messed with one-night stands and stuff, and it's just not right so we gave that up.

But multiple wives? I will have been with my girl for 9 years this August. We're happy as we are, so why mess with it?

I'm afraid of commitment, yet I won't be with another woman without a little?

Man, I'm complicated.
