I mash around 60 to 70 percent power on my 120v foundry. Does everyone kick it up to 100 percent from mash to boil? Wasn't sure if I needed to worry about scorching and ramp at like 80 or 90. Thanks for the help.
 
It has an ultra-low watt density (ULWD) element, so no worries about running her at full blast. It's designed for that.
 
I just ordered an Anvil Foundry (AF). There is a large thread a few above this one. I just finished reading through all of it too.
I think the reason people dial down on the percentage when boiling is: they are on 220v and want to slow the boil-off rate.

Only scorching i read of was when they were using a grain bag inaide with no malt pipe (the metal insert).

If you boil on 110V, you probably want full 100% power for speed and best boil.
