Another What the Hell am I to use this for?

A friend of mine had this keg laying around his house for several years he said. I think it's aluminum because it's rather light and looks slightly pitted, although it may just need a good cleaning. I don't know if i should use a scouring pad or what. It's like 3.785 gallon or somewhere around that size.

This is the coupler connector. Those are just leaves on the sides. Does it look familiar to anyone? Does is make sense to cut the top off, and weld a corny keg fitting up top?

That looks like a really REALLY old Hoff-Stevens keg. I'll bet it actually is made of aluminum. If its about 5 gallons in size, I'd clean the crap out of the inside and get a bung for it and use it to cask condition in.
 
That's not a bad idea! I'd start with some BKF whe you clean it. That stuff is awesome.
 
I'd make a homebrew stool out of it. Something appropriate to sit on while you watch the kettles boil over. :D
