Another post about using distilled water...hear my plea!

Alright so I know about the pros and cons for the most part about using distilled water but I wanted to sort of take this one step further. If you start off with distilled water which as we all know has a mineral content all across the board at 0, can you add the right salts and minerals to achieve the desired water profile? How would you go about calculating the additions?

Yes. A spreadsheet (brunwater is my favorite) is helpful to determine target desired amounts of salts/minerals.

Hey Pliny, I'm in SR also...I use RO water from Lakeside Water near Howarth Park...then use Bru n' Water spreadsheet for my additions.

Hey I'm in Petaluma but brew in Santa Rosa. I use the RO water from Oliver's Market. Only 39 cents per gallon.
