I just started an apfelwein / cider variant with 2 gallons Costco apple juice, 1/2 gallon Trader Joe's fresh pressed apple juice, 1 gallon Trader Joe's Macintosh Apple juice, 1 gallon TJ's Black Raspberry juice, and 1/2 gallon TJ's Blackberry crush. I also used 3 lbs of Turbinado sugar.
SG is 1.062, exactly what my original apfelwein recipe was (just juice + turbinado), so it should turn out 8.5% or so.
I used the Red Star Premier Cuvee yeast.
Hopefully it will be as awesome as apfelwein in 2 months.
EDIT: The name 'Angry Apple Cider' is a reccomendation from my buddy, who thinks the label should have a BAMF apple holding a blackberry by the neck and stepping on a raspberry's face. I like the idea so far, but I'm open to suggestions for a better name.
