I updated my blog, BrewingExperiment.com with my 'first taste' result. and... we have beer!!! :mug: it's better than i thought it would be too.

I'm going to wait another week or so before putting a handful of bottles in the fridge. all-in-all i'd say that it's pretty good and i can't wait to get batch number two in the kettle.

i'm working with a friend to tweak my next recipe with fresh ingredients vs. the bag kits.

Those are red and white painted glasses, right? Right? I mean, those couldn't be plastic party cups. Right? I'm choosing to belive that those are cleverly painted glasses.

Congrats on the first brew, man! Glad to hear things came out okay. Hopefully the second batch will be even better. :mug:

steeping grains, and mini-mash will add a lot,,

woollybugger2, congrats on the brown. was it a wild fish? i'm taking some of my Blue Line Ale down to the beach in two weeks for a fishing trip!

of course those glasses are custom painted. i didn't want spray paint flaking off and ruining my beer and sticking to my teeth. :) it was a last minute decision to walk a bottle across the street to share.

thanks for all the help everyone has given me & the visits to my blog.

Did all your worries go away after that first sip?
It's a great feeling, isn't it?

Woolybugger, do you always wear your wife's bath robe to go fishing?

I like that name... "Blue Line Ale"

yeah the trout was wild... and caught in VA...but I live in NC

bsruther: that's just a fleece jacket... it was in the 40's in the morning....

yes, bsruther after that first sip; it was like a weight was lifted... what a great feeling. i've got a few more in the fridge now. :)
