When I move my ale to the secondary, I was thinking about putting in 4 cans of pumpkin. Should I have boiled this in? Am I wrong to think that it will still give the beer a nice flavor? I looked through the stick post and didn't find anything.

While boiling would probably have been the best option, you will still gain some benefit from adding pumpking to secondary. I'd recommend roasting the pumpkin and add to secondary. I'd leave it in there for a few weeks at least.

Yuri Rage's Thunderstruck Pumpkin ale has roasting directions that will still work for adding the pumpkin to secondary.
