hey, im jim.
im currently living in palm beach gardens FL (three quarters of the way down on the east coast)
i love hoppy ass IPA's and complex ass porters.
stouts usually come a bit sour to me so im not a huge fan of some of them. wiessens are ok but a bit bland, however wiessens and witbeers are perfect in my opinion for fruit brewing.
ooh, and Belgian strongs. they rock out hardcore too.

i have a (mostly)wonderful partner who brews with me but she prefers browns, and ales.

south florida spends so much time catering to the cultures of tourists it barely has a culture of its own, so if you want good beer, you basically make it yourself.

this is why im here. i got a few batches under my belt, but im trying to get more brew theory so i can wing my own recipes.

and right now id like to figure out how to clone jw lees harvest. it blew me away when i tried it, so now i gotta try to make it.

Welcome and good luck! There are many experienced persons on this board who can help you get started. I never heard of that beer, but we got members all over the world, so surely someone can help you with that recipe.

Come inside, meet the missus. Ave a cuppa tea!

Anybody knows when the new Ventmatic Vortex Ring faucets are coming out. They are the newest thing in taps and are better than the old VentMatics.

alright, so i started out doing partial mash id guess.
(steep grains, then boil extract) or is that just extract brewing?
either way, whole grain seems to be where its at. any recommendations for a decent how to on mashing?
ps, beersmith is pretty snazzy stuff. this whole idea of "planning recipes" isd new to me. ive always just winged it
