Where does everyone buy their ingredients ? Local home brew supply stores, the web, some other mysterious place? My gf price checked my ingredients on northern brewer and they'll cost around $50 how does this rate? High, low, average. Thanks for the help.

There's hundreds of threads on this very topic, but in a nutshell: you'll save a lot of money if you can buy in bulk, if you can avoid high shipping costs, if you reuse yeast, and if you brew low gravity beers without expensive adjuncts. I recently bought online for a class I'm teaching (they want receipts, and since I buy so much in bulk, I can't provide them with official receipts if I use from my inventory) and I found the what I can make for about $25 cost me $45 buying online in exact amounts and paying for shipping.
