On the east coast and looking for a proxy. I can always do Suarez thank you boxes and have the occasional Hill Farmstead and Trillium connect to mix it up.

I got in this year from wait list! Sadly u was hoping to be living in Vancouver by now and am in Calgary, might still do it and just drive down for Nov 3.. doubt I could find a proxy

Hey all,

Just joined beer talk because of this thread. I am considering joining the club Ale Apothecary club this year, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to proxy and ship to me (obviously I'll cover costs and would send a thank you from the East Coast). Just want to line up something before I sign up (I know it isn't until late next year). Thanks!

I’m your Huckleberry. Huckleberries, since there’s multiple? Whatever, I can do it.

Matty’s more present on TB than me, but I too have mastered the ways of the styro shipper and shipping label.

Have you shipped to Canada? Appreciate the offer this could make it a no questions asked decision!

Not for beer trading, but I worked in freight forwarding/customs brokerage before, and my competition has Canadian entrants so I’ve got some general experience with the documentation. I just have to say “here’s the pro forma invoice, eh” right?

Let me know if a proxy is needed! I'm at AA weekly and can help. Sharpski know his way round the tasting room as Well.

I'm going to need a proxy if you're still willing. I'll likely come in November for the party/bottle pickup but I'll likely buy things throughout the year so I'll need some help with those.

No clue! I haven't ever shipped cross border although my friend has an address is Bellingham so if it could be shipped to there he could get it and ship from Vancouver! I might just do it and take you up on the offer! I'd obviously have him ship a box to you as a thank you as well!

I'm here for all your proxy needs drgarage :)

PM me and we'll work out the details.

Same for everyone else looking for a proxy! It looks like Paul has opened the membership up to MANY more people, and most are in need of a proxy. Either myself or sharpski can help as we both live in Bend. Shoot me a PM and we'll work out the details.

Cheers,

Matt

If there is anyone (particularly in the Bay Area) that did not get in yet and wants to split this year let me know. Kind of want to drop out and not juggle so many damn clubs... but I hate my wallet so much that I can't stop starving it of all money. Cheers.

I'm down for that (I'm in Berkeley).

This quarters bottles sound awesome! Didn't max out on Dan and the trifecta but might end up putting in a second order to max out before the deadline..

I agree! I'm new to the club, so I just did one of each but I was pretty tempted to get more and may regret it. :)

Beer Descriptions

2/3 Huckleberry Blend, 96 bottles available. 9% abv
$40/bottle limit 1 bottle per person, first come-first served.

This beer is made up of small amounts of numerous brews going back to early 2015. In April of 2017 we transferred this beer into a second use bourbon barrel with 20# of foraged wild mountain huckleberries and, after bottling, set the beer aside for a good friend’s wedding (on February 3rd, hence the name). Well, not all of it. We have a scant amount available to sell, and believe me, this is a beer you want to have. Outstanding fruit character from the huckleberries with a slight contribution from the bourbon barrels marry with our house character in the way we hope all of our beer experiments end up.

Peach Sahalie, 240 bottles produced. 9.72% abv
$35 limit 2 bottle per person, first come-first served.

Brewed July 2016, bottled August 2017. Our flagship Sahalie (Mecca Grade pilsner & wheat with Cascade hops) aged in vintage brewery barrel Bobby Wak-Wak (which has been in use at the brewery since 2012) with 100# of white peaches. Excellent acidity produced from lactobacillus & pediococcuswith the peach character intertwined nicely with our house ester profile.

La Tache/CDM/Sahalie trifecta, 420 bottles produced.9.72% abv
$30/bottle limit 3 per person, first come-first served.

Brewed July 2016, bottled September 2017. We took our 3 brands that all use varying levels of last years’ hop crop (all our other beers use aged hops) and blended them equally just to see what would happen. The result was far beyond our expectations as the beer delivers signature elements of each of these brands in a very luscious way. We actually considered putting this beer in the 2018 Ale Club, but felt that the story wasn’t exciting enough. So, it’s a surprisingly happy ending to a rather off-handed experiment!

OJ Dan, 540 bottles produced. 7.88% abv
$25/bottle limit 4 bottles per person, first come-first served.

Brewed December 2016, bottled September 2017. First aged in 2nd use Bulleit rye whiskey barrels, Dan (the beer is Mecca Grade pilsner & wheat with Challenger hops) was transferred to a 500 liter puncheon where 2 gallons of fresh squeezed orange juice was added. A wonderfully light and expressive beer. The orange juice is noticeable on the nose and palate if you are paying attention and adds a juicy layer of complexity that may be mistaken for yeast character, but it’s actually Florida.
