Airlock at Secondary or also during primary

Folks, im both new to the forum as well as winemaking. I have one successful batch under my belt but I really need some guidance. My big question at the moment is: should I airlock the must during primary fermentation? I did not do this on my first round. This novice would appreciate you weighing in.
