Its a good day!!!

I just passed my annual Air Force physical fitness test (I was absolutely dreading this day) with a little room to spare. I am pretty psyched about it. The Air Force is starting to put it on our annual performance reports now, so a failed PT test is bad news if you want a good rating. And not to mention a royal PITA with mandatory diet and nutritional classes until you pass it.

Thank goodness I don't have to worry about it for another year!!!!!

I'm tipping some to celebrate, then headed over to a wine tasting tonight! This is the place that has the hge beer wall so I'll be coming home with some treats--hopefully Hop Rod Rye!!!!!

:ban: :ban: :ban: :ban:

Now now Dude, don't get carried away...I'm sure those that passed you would not agree to you ruining your fitness and health with gallons of beer...moderation my friend, moderation..;)

Man, you promised me you were going to go to all the "fat, lazy bastard" classes with me. :(

Nah, congrats man, I told you you'd do fine! Go easy on that wine, man. Don't wanna ruin your reputation. :D

Stars must have been aligned right or something. I was sleepless for the past 2 days--KNOWING I was going to fail the run. I dunno what happened!

BTW...no Hop Rod Rye....I wasn't too impressed with the beer selection there, a ton of stuff didn't sound interesting to me. I did come home with a sixer of goodies though....

1. Avery IPA
2. Sierra Nevada IPA
3. Victory Ten years Alt (I've never had an altbier, said WTF)
4. Thirsty Dog Siberian Night (Imperial Stout)
5. Great Divide Brewing Co. Titan IPA
6. Wyerbacher Decadence (no idea what this was, $8 a bottle, better be good!)

Looks like I'm havinga nice IPA tasting tonight when I get home from work though!

Congratulations on passing your fitness test. I always do marginal on mine and the ANG test is much easier than the AF test. I think I better get my arse to the gym!
I've heard you talking about them and I found both at the liquor store so I picked up an Arrogant Bastard and a Hop Rod Rye in Bombers last night. I tried the Arrogant bastard and enjoyed it very much. What they say on the bottle is very true. Not many people will like that beer. What amazed me most was the malt profile coming through all those hops. Actually a pretty nice balance.
The Hop Rod I'll try tonight!

Rich, those are two of my favorite beers. I've been drinking a lot of AB lately. You said it, how they get that malty backbone balanced with all those hops is awesome.

The Hop Rod is just on a whole new level for a beer. It is my #1 fave. Not even a contest.

You are ANG? Cool.

I used to HATED those GD PT test when I was in the Navy. The push up and sit ups were a joke, I could max out those every year. But that 1.5 mile run was horrible. First of all if God would have wanted man to run 1.5 miles he would have never allowed us to domesticate horses. Second of all even on an aircraft carrier you only have, at the most, 1100 feet to go b4 you run out of **** to run on.

My theroy on the whole running thing is we should train our guys so they are strong as hell and can kick the living crap out of anyone with in 1 minute. Make the enemy be the ones running and we can shoot them as they flee. I dont want our guys to have the option of "Hey I think we may lose this one, lets take a jog"

j/k
:drunk:

#1, CONGRATS! My step-dad is reitred Army and man he always LOVED his PT times... NOT....

#2 I got lucky last night and was able to grab a bottle of Hop Rod Rye along with the Fullers and a sixer of others I'll go into later... After hearing all the raving about the HRR I must say I'm really looking forward to it... I'm actually wondering what the deal is because the store only had 2 bottles left... (how many HBT lurkers are there in Springfield Illinois anyway??? ;) ) I may regret not having grabbed BOTH bottles...

Congrats again Dude! Sorry you're working! Outside to wash vehicles for me!!!
