Per the specs, the thickness is 5mm; 5 millimeters = 0.196850394 inches.

How do you convert mm or inches to gauge?

$100 for four pots seems like a good deal.

I would keep the 32 and 40QT pots and eBay or Craig's list the others.

It all depends on the kind of stainless the pots are. 301 is bad....410/416 (not sure) is ok but you can`t weld to it, 304 and 316 are the best. 304L and 316L you can weld the fittings on. In my opinion if it is 301 forget it, 410/416 is OK, 304 or 316 definite buy!!

P.S. it needs to be L grade to weld, regular 304 or 316 is non-weld.

I'm assuming the 5mm is referring to the bottom, which puts them on par with other pots available. I might order these. Even if it turns out they aren't ideal for brewing, four SS pots for $130 shipped is a steal.

Called today ... and the true thickness is .5mm. A common mistake I've seen around the net. Also received a PM from Agri Supply noting this mistake on the website. So ... not clad ... but still thin. Not sure how .5 mm compares to other pots... but I think these should work fine. I have some 1/4 aluminum plate laying around ... so I could probably just put some between the pot and the burner and in effect ... have some cladding and perhaps more even heating ??? .

I think I will order this set . Even if this won't work for a brew kettle ...and I don't see why it won't... these pots should work for everything else with some no-weld fittings...
