Hey guys. Bought myself a fermentap aeration system. Its a small pump with an inline filter and a 2 micron
diffusion stone. Boiled the stone for the recommended 2-3 minutes and tried it out in a glass of water. No bubbles. I searched the internet and found some advice about boiling it longer and dipping it in hydrocloric acid. Tried both. Nothing happening. Then someone said to take everything apart and try blowing through the stone and filter and to make sure that the pump is actually blowing air. First I notice that the pump is not producing a very good stream. Maybe thats normal i thought, maybe it builds pressure rather than blasting right through. Then i try to blow through the dip tube with the stone. A handful of bubbles emerge from the bottom of the stone and then nothing. Mind you i am blowing till i am red in the face at this time. So on to the filter. I huff and puff and absolutely no air goes through. It is impossible for this tiny little pump to make it through this filter. And even if it did, the stone is not making it easier. Just to remind you, this is a set, sold together. Will it eventually build enough pressure to do this? Or am I a sucker in need of a much bigger pump?
Suppose i would rather go for an O2 tank system if a bigger pump is needed. Any advice or snide comments much appreciated.

I would contact whoever you bought it from. It's supposed to work.
