Just and update I've purchased a 50l kettle, and I'm using it on a 3kw induction on, fingers crossed my first brew goes well

deano, I just started this gig a few weeks ago and jumped screaming head first into all grain (after reading my arse off).
I've got a 10-gallon pot and pretty much do it like JONNYROTTEN described above.
If I can do it, a person with your experience can certainly pull it off. I wish you well!

Always remember, the first brewers (probably ladies) were brewing all grain, had less idea what they were doing than my cat, and STILL made beer good enough to want more of it. Relax, you'll get something good.

I have my all grain setup pretty much ready to use, however I have 3 extract kits left to use before my first all grain. My question is shall I use my new setup to make these extract brews? Would I get better results than my normal way, (these kits have steeping grains, and DME, and fresh hops for the boil I normally do a 6l boil as the instructions state, would a full volume boil produce a much better beer with the same kit?) Thanks guys

A full volume boil will produce a better result. In addition, it gives you a chance to work through the boil and chill aspects of the AG rig in case there are any unforseen kinks with that process. It'll make the first AG batch that much less stressful as well.

I did full boil extract a couple batches before going all grain, I'm not sure I noticed a significant difference in quality or taste though. In my experience I never could get the hop flavors and aromas I was looking for Brewing with extracts, honestly most tasted, smelled and looked very similar. Now I've gone all grain the last couple years the hop flavors and aromas are much improved. Cheers!

I had a couple of extract kits on hand when I did my first all grain batch. I found it hard to go back and brew those last 2 batches after doing one all grain.
