Hello :)

After boiling my wort, cooling it and putting it into my fermenter, I realized I was missing a bit of liquid (probably boiled a bit more than usual, it's only my third beer so I'm still adjusting...)

My recipe said it was OK to top with a bit of water, so I did.

Before adding water, my gravity was 1.054. If I added 300ml of water into 3.6L of wort, it is possible somehow to "adjust/calculate" my gravity ?

Thanks

The amount of "Gravity Points" will remain constant, and as volume increases, OG will decreate
  • 3.6 * 54 = 194
  • 194 / 3.9 = 50
There are a couple of web sites that do this as well. Probably built into BeerSmith, ... as well. For me, it's quicker to do the math than open the software, find the page, ...
