Have two ferments going at same time and they are in the secondary ferment. These were partial extract kits. I accidentally put the chocolate nibs in the Double IPA and the Hops in the Stout. I pulled each addition out when I noticed my error. The chocolate nibs were in the Double IPA for a week. The Hops were only in the Stout for two days. After pulling the additions out I started the cold crash and i am about a week into that. I am not too worried about the stout but Chocolate nibs in the Double IPA I am not sure about. They were in a nylon addition bag so it was easy to pull them out. I am considering kegging these two so I can rid myself of the mistake faster. I will invite my friends and have a party. If it's not a big deal I would like to bottle because I have two kits behind these two that I originally intended to keg.

Question- Is there a way to clean my mistake up or should I suffer through it?

What exactly will the chocolate nibs do to the beer anyway, aroma, flavor or both? I read that nibs really don't do anything but it that's the case why we doing it?

Appreciate your comments.

I'd just roll with it and see how it comes out, the hops in the stout would most likely not be to noticeable. The Nibs in the IPA not exactly sure how much flavor is imparted from those, I would say that it might sweeten it up some so you may lose some of the bitterness, but I really doubt that will affect a double IPA that much

Nibs do make a contribution to flavor and aroma. It could range from a subtle chocolate note to sucking on a nib. It depends on how much you used. To my knowledge there isn't anything you can do about your chocolatey DIPA. But the stout I would get some more nibs and try again, then bottle it and age it for a month or two and most of the accidental dry hop should be gone.

I went ahead today and kegged the two brews. After looking at the cost of re ordering the additions and shipping it was not cost effective. I forced carbed both and then sampled. They taste fine. I really did not taste or smell any chocolate in the DIPA. The stout was supposed to be a cow chocula milk stout. It had a taste more like tea milk stout. Both still very drinkable. I am sure the beer will get better over time until its gone.
