I brewed a Belgian dark strong today, and forgot to add 1lb if cane sugar at the end of the boil. I was reading where adding the sugar a few days into fermentation is an accepted practice, I did not read, however, whether or not the sugar would need to be boiled. It sounds like its a straight pitch. Any thoughts?

boil it for 5 mins to sterilize, cool it down covered with some foil close to the temp of the beer and add it in

Just bringing it to a boil is more than enough to ensure sanitation.
That said, when adding granulated sugars I've never bothered boiling, and just pour it in the fermentor...

Cheers!
