I recently kegged a pumpkin ale that I spiced with a tincture made of vodka and pumpkin pie spice. It's carbed up nice, but I feel it needs just a little more spice to it. Can I simply purge, pop open the lid, add a little more spiced vodka, and then hit it with gas again to serving pressure? Or do I need to hit it with high pressure to seal the lid, then purge and set to serving pressure? I've never had to open up a keg after it was carbonated before, I was just wondering if the beer will still retain the same level of carbonation?

Yes, you can add more spice in the carbed keg, The tincture is probably the easiest. I would bleed the CO2 off and pop the lid but only move it aside and don't take it off. Add your spice tincture and immediately position the lid to seal again. You probably pretty full keg will likely foam up and that's why you don't want the lid all the way off. re-connect your CO2 line and bleed. You will not have lost carbonation in your beer. But, it may take a day or two for the additional spices to really marry with your beer.
